FAZ/MTN Super League week 11 fixtures which were scheduled to be played this Wednesday have been moved to January 8, 2020.
According to a circular to clubs, Zambia Super League interim manager Brian Mulenga stated that the move is to to give level playing field for all teams especially that other teams are burdened with national team callups which includes both players and coaches.
“Please note that in order for all the teams to compete on a level playing field and not to disadvantage them, all fixtures that were scheduled for Wednesday November 6th have been rescheduled and will now be played on January 8, 2020,” stated Mulenga.
“This is because of multiple international engagements involving players selected for various Zambian national teams as well as other national teams during the FIFA international window which has meant a large number of players will not be available.”
The Super League entered week 10 on Saturday but only three clubs – Red Arrows, Forest Rangers and Nkwazi – have fulfilled all their 10 fixtures.
Green Eagles and ZANACO are the most affected having played only six games from the possible 10. This is due to their engagement in the CAF Confederation Cup.
