SHEPOLOPOLO skipper Misozi Zulu says this Friday’s first leg fourth round match against Kenya is a must-win.
During a press briefing in Lusaka, the BIIK Kazygurt player said the team will not have any excuses if it loses the match in Kenya.
“The morale is there in camp and everyone is putting their level best to win this game and this game on the 8th is a must-win game. We don’t have to give excuses when we lose the game; all we want is a win and we just need to be focused and concentrate,” said Zulu.
Shepolopolo coach Bruce Mwape said the late arrivals of three foreign-based players will have no effect on the team.
“Time is actually there, that’s why we want to be in Uganda [for camp] by Wednesday (today) so that we can train in the morning and afternoon, even Thursday. In fact, we have two days in between so we have enough time,” Mwape said.
Zambia will be away to Kenya on November 8 and host the Harambee Starlets in the return leg four days later in Lusaka.
Four teams on the African continent have remained in a rigorous qualification exercise.
The remaining teams are Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Kenya and Zambia.
Cameroon plays Ivory Coast while the Copper Queens engage the Harambee Starlets.
Winners of the two fixtures will face off in the final qualifying round that will see the victor qualify to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics while the loser will play Chile in a playoff.
