FOOTBALL Association of Zambia president Andrew Kamanga says the KoPa brand is a perfect response to the government driven policy of homegrown solutions to Zambian problems.
FAZ launched the 2019/20 national teams’ kits at the Barca Academy in Lusaka on Tuesday.
The new kit is for both men’s and women’s teams at all levels.
“We are confident that the design answers to the various concerns raised by the public and will make the product a true reflection of Zambian pride. So far we have as FAZ continued to support lower division teams, Division One, Division Two, Division Three and Division Four – with Kopa jerseys annually,” he said.
“We remain confident that in the near future, Kopa will become the brand of choice for the teams in the sponsored leagues – that is the Super League and the National Division One.”
Gracing the event, sports minister Emmanuel Mulenga congratulated the association for rebranding the national team kit.
Mulenga said the innovation had come at an opportune time and was a good business strategy that requires the support of all patriotic Zambians.
“It is gratifying to note that the Association has taken the initiative of creating the Kopa brand to ensure maximum generation of resources. This will result in maximising resources for further development of football in the country,” said Mulenga.
“While Kopa Brand is owned by the Football Association of Zambia, ideally it is for the people of Zambia. As our national teams wear this new kit, it offers an opportunity to brand Zambia across the world.”
