Some Zambian fools think there is no God – Lungu

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has promised the people of Vubwi that he will make sure that the Chipata/Vubwi road is done in the next one and half year.

He prayed “God gives us enough rains so that we plant and harvest. I am saying this without shame because there are some Zambians who don’t
want to call upon God Almighty but we believe there is God Almighty who looks after us and is very provident and He provides for us.”

Addressing Vubwi residents at Vubwi Primary School on Saturday, President Lungu – who asked area member of parliament Margaret Miti to state what was promised during the 2016 campaigns – said the government would start by upgrading the road to an all-weather gravel road before tarring it.

“I will make sure I come constantly to check on the work being done. Your member of parliament sits in Lusaka with honourable Vincent Mwale (infrastructure minister) and I will be reminding them that work on that road so that it is delivered as promised to the Zambian people and the people of Vubwi,” he said. “We promised these people a hospital, we will be coming back here in the month of December or earlier than January to come and commission that (District) hospital.”

President Lungu said he wants to make sure that by the time he commissions the hospital, it is ready to operate with doctors, nurses and medicine is in place.

He said the people of Vubwi were very hardworking adding that most of the activities in the area bordered on farming.

President Lungu recalled that the government had promised the people that it would improve agriculture by delivering farming inputs in time.

“His Royal Highness chief Pembamoyo has just told me that fertiliser, seeds and all implements required for farming are ready in Vubwi. Your chief was good enough to tell me honestly that it has never happened before that you can deliver fertilizer and seed in such good time like we have done this time around,” he said. “My prayer is that, let us pray to God so that He gives us enough rains so that we plant and harvest. I am saying this without shame because there are some Zambians who don’t
want to call upon God Almighty but we believe there is God Almighty who looks after us and is very provident and He provides for us. For that reason we’ll not work hard, doing the best and leaving the rest to God Almighty the creator of heaven and earth.”

President Lungu promised that the government would do what it is saying.

“Me and my team and your area member of parliament will work together to ensure that we fulfill that which we promised because we know that come 2021 you will be asking us ‘what have you done?’ So cooperate with your area member of parliament, support her, support the DC, support
the government administration and all civil servants so that we deliver for the people of Vubwi,” urged President Lungu.

“And don’t leave out our traditional rulers and the Church. We are One Zambia, One Nation, one people.”

Health Minister Dr Chitalu Chilufya urged the people in Vubwi to register and vote en masse because they have a loving leader.

“In Mansa, we are saying President Lungu is our presidential candidate for 2021. When I was at primary school, the person who used to copy too
much in class was Banda and was coming from Vubwi. Even you, you should copy from Mansa that the presidential candidate for 2021 is Edgar
Chagwa Lungu,” said Dr Chilufya.

Eastern Province PF chairperson Andrew Lubusha thanked President Lungu for the numerous developments.

“When you visited us two weeks ago among the top requests that we made was the Chadiza road as well as the Vubwi road. Your presence here gives us so much hope that you will respond to the request that we made,” said Lubusha.

“Your Excellency you are such a listening and hardworking President. We are extremely proud of you and we can only wish you
God’s blessings.”
Earlier, President Lungu toured works on the Chipata/Vubwi road where China Jiangxi Engineering project manager Lin Ning gave him a brief about the project.
