ZIM FACE WOUNDED CHIPOLOPOLO

[By Bright Tembo]

CHIPOLOPOLO boys will this evening seek to redeem themselves when they take on Zimbabwe in the second game of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at National Heroes Stadium.

The inclusion of Redbull duo Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu will give more options to coach Aggrey Chiyangi.

Speaking ahead of the match, Chiyangi said pressure, especially from the fans, is to be expected.

“Every game has its own pressure and what matters is how you handle the pressure and yes tomorrow (today) we will have more pressure from the fans. But they need to understand that football is a competition and every team wants to win and nobody prepares to fail. This is their baby and fans need to be with the team,” he said.

Last Friday, Zambia was handed a 5-0 mauling by defending African champions in the opening group match.

Team captain Kabaso Chongo said the morale in camp is high and players were looking forward to the game.

“The morale is high and we are looking forward to the match. We know what happened in Algeria and we want to win to change things,” said Kabaso.

Zimbabwean coach Joey Antipas said his side will be very careful as they are taking on wounded Chipolopolo boys at home.

“We know the game will be tough because we are facing a wounded side so we will be careful with how we will play our game,” said Antipas.
