ZANACO football club will today take on last year’s runners up in the CAF Champions league RSB Berkane of Morocco in the second group C game at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

The Numba Mumamba drilled side will walk into the pitch from a 1-all draw in Congo against DC Motema Pembe while Berkane beat Beninese club Esae 3-nill to go top of the log.

Speaking during a press conference, Numba said the game would be tough.

“I must say it’s an important game for us after coming back from Congo. We could have come back with three points and looking at this game, we have to work hard, we are playing a team that is very good and I think they won at home and looking at their appearance in the competition last year, they were runners up, so we expect a tough game as we meet them tomorrow (today). But on out part we have done everything and we made sure that the team is ready,” said Numba.

“We are going into this game to try and fight to get a win because that will put us in a better position to qualify to the quarter finals. We have to play very offensive in this game because that’s what is going to give us the results. We are at home; there is no way we can sit back; all what we want is to get a result.”

Team captain Ziyo Tembo also predicted a tough encounter against the Moroccan side.

“I think the morale is high in camp and everyone is ready for the game but this is not an easy team; it’s a strong team, they were finalists last season, everyone knows what is at stake. The team just has to believe and work hard tomorrow (today). What is important is that we win our home games and have a better chance of qualifying to the quarter finals,” he said.

And Beninese club Esae coach Sektioui Tarik said Zanaco had a lot of skilled players that could change the game.

“Zanaco is a good team and managed to get a draw away. We won our first game which is very important and getting three points here will be good because it will send us to six points. It’s a very important game. It’s (Zanaco) a strong team with individual skills. It will be a tough game but it’s important to get three points,” said Tarik.
