NEWLY appointed Nakambala Football Club coach Albert Mphande says he is not under pressure to be a coach for a team that is swimming in relegation zone.
Mphande, known as Ferguson, said Nakambala Leopards has good players that only need to change their mentality.
“I am not a kind of a coach who is always under pressure. Nakambala has quality players, it’s just the matter of changing their mentality, attitude and character. I think we will do well. There is nothing to worry on the league. It’s still on for us to survive relegation,” he said.
Confident ‘Fergi’ asked what can make him fail to help the team survive relegation, when he did it in Rwanda with Rwanda Police FC, simply said, nothing.
“I think nothing is difficult here. I will repeat that Nakambala has quality players, we just need to change the attitude and character of the players,” Mphande said. “Moreover this is my country. When I was out there it was another language, I come here I think I cannot fail. I did it in Rwanda with Rwanda Police FC, they finished in fourth position so what of my own country, my only language?”
Mphande who is part of the Under 20 national technical bench who are in the semifinals of the ongoing COSAFA tournament is expected to join his new club after the tournament.
Nakambala have a high mountain to climb out of the relegation zone.
The Mazabuka side have won just two games in 12 matches this season leaving them swimming in relegation waters.
