Sr Maria asks Lusambo to humble himself, apologise to Nkomenshya

SENIOR Chieftainess Nkhomeshya’s daughter Maria Nkomeshya says Lusaka Province minister Bowman Lusambo should apologise to her mother
for calling her a liar.

Reacting to Lusambo’s assertions that chieftainess Nkomeshya lied that the people who disturbed the Chakwela Makumbi traditional ceremony
were PF cadres, Sr Maria who also attended the ceremony said she saw the people who caused confusion.

“Lusambo himself never came to the ceremony and after my mum condemned what transpired, he is now saying the chieftainess is not telling the
truth because the people who disturbed the ceremony were UPND. Now how
can the UPND attack their own president? We invited the PF but they never came, the only person who was there was Chongwe mayor [council chairperson] Geoffrey Chumbwe and the DC,” she said.

Sr Maria said before the incident she got reports that the PF were organising buses in Lusaka to go and cause confusion at the ceremony.

She said she even phoned Chongwe member of parliament, who is also Copperbelt minister, Japhen
Mwakalombe, but that he told her that he was not aware of the development.

“I am so disappointed with Lusambo, the best he would have done was to come and have an audience with her royal highness. Why is Lusambo
responding? Is he the secretary general of PF? It’s true the cadres ate the food and afterwards they burnt the tent,” Sr Maria said.

She said the traditional leader was truthful in all her dealings.

“My mum ascended to the throne in 1971. How old is Lusambo to be calling my mum liar? I was born in the house of my mother, she does not lie. She calls a spade a spade. She is honest in everything. Us who
were born there, brought up there, we know her in and out,” she said.

Sr Maria said President Edgar Lungu should advise some of his ministers.

“The President is a good person but his ministers are the ones who are destroying his name. Lusambo should humble himself and I am disappointed with him,” said Sr Maria.
