Lungu ‘is a cruel, calculating, power obsessed dictator’

Ackson Sejani says Edgar Lungu is nothing than a cruel, calculating, power obsessed dictator.

Sejani is justified in his description of Edgar as cruel dictator because there’s enough evidence to back this.
“We must not allow Mr Lungu to continue to hide behind the cloak of humbleness because there is nothing humble about the man. It is time to unmask him so that we all see him for what he really is. He is nothing less than a cruel, calculating, power obsessed dictator,” says Sejani.

Hard core criminals, the most ruthless, heartless and cruel criminals usually try to hide behind a humble disposition to catch their prey. Those who are old enough will remember that cruel armed bandit Uncle Barry! He hid behind a very humble disposition such that you could entrust him with your one-day old baby.

Edgar tries to wear a humble mask but his deeds and, sometimes, his utterances give him away. Do you remember his most favourite saying – his threats to crush like a tonne of bricks anyone trying to stand in his way!

Look at his sadistic and cruel deeds: closure of The Post and harassment of Dr Fred M’membe! The arrest and detention of Hakainde Hichilema on trumped up treason charges! The harassment of his former friends Chishimba Kambwili and Harry Kalaba! The violence of his cadres and aides that goes unpunished! The corruption and other abuses that deprive the poor of God’s gift of life!

A cruel person is someone who takes joy from the suffering of others. They have zero empathy for what the sufferer is experiencing and take a perverted joy and fun in watching something feel pain and die. They have no sympathy or empathy and view those qualities as weaknesses to be exploited. And this is exactly what Edgar is.
We wonder how anybody could be so effortlessly cruel.

The psychological harm imposed on another human being by acts of cruelty can last many years if not a lifetime.
Hurting another person can be distressing. But there are those who take pleasure in intentional cruelty. Some even go as far as getting a real high or ‘buzz’ out of it when observing the distress being caused to others.
Cruelty is willfully causing pain or suffering to others, or feeling no concern about it.

There are many ways that people can be cruel to others. There’s no excuse for cruelty and it is socially wrong.
What causes some people to enjoy cruelty?

Individuals who are sadistic get pleasure from practices that hurt others, and are eager to exhaust additional efforts to make people suffer.

There is the argument of psychological disorders being present in everyday sadists. Psychologists talk about the dark triad of personality disorders consisting of narcissism, Machiavellianism and psychopathy. People who score high in the dark triad traits see people as tools to use, manipulate and exploit in order to get what they want.
Sadistic personality disorder involves gaining pleasure from inflicting and witnessing the discomfort and pain of others. This can also be expressed in a physical or emotional nature. Displays of cruel behaviour is common in a person with this disorder.

In John 13:34 we are told, “So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.”
