Zambia’s CAF Confederations Cup envoy Zanaco Football Club will today need to put behind the mind games they were subjected to on their arrival in Benin in today’s clash against ESAE.
The Numba Mumamba’s tutored side will be going into today’s game with only two draws and will be in search of maximum points to fancy chances of qualifying to the quarter finals of the competition.
Zanaco, who has not won a match in the last four games both in the local league and the continental competition, will be facing a side that has equally not won a match in the group after losing two of their opening games.
Striker Chitiya Mususu said if they win, they have a higher chance of qualifying.
“The weather is kind of hot but we are managing because it was also the same in Equatorial Guinea and Mauritius, so I think we have adapted to this kind of weather,” he said.
“This game is very important in the sense that if we win, we have very good chance to qualify because teams that are on top are facing each other home and away and we have this team we are playing home and away, so this will be our advantage….”
He however warned his team mates not to underrate ESAE.
“It gives an advantage quite alright but we as footballers have to put in mind that they have also lost (ESAE), meaning they will come with anger to win their first game. So we should not underrate them, we should play with our total concentration, that will help us be victorious at the end of the game,” said Mususu.
The match will be at Charles De Gaulle Stadium in Porton Ovoid at 14:00 Local Time, 15:00 Central African Time.
