A 28-YEAR-OLD Ndola woman has told the Magistrates’ Court how eight boys took turns to rape her.
The boys who raped the 28-year-old woman are aged between 13 and 18 years old.
This is in a matter where the eight boys stand charged with rape contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
It is alleged that the eight boys on November 2, 2019 at around 22:00 hours threatened to stab the woman before they took turns raping her.
When the matter came up for trial before magistrate Misozi Banda, the woman said she was dragged into ZAFFICO forest in Ndola’s Kawama area where she was gang raped.
The court heard that she went to watch a musician performing at a named bar in Kawama and there she started drinking with her friends.
She narrated that she left the bar when it was closing and it was at that time that the eight juveniles dragged her into the nearby bush and took turns raping her.
“Before they took turns on me, we were struggling and they produced a knife and threatened to stab me. For fear of being stabbed, I let them do whatever they wanted to do,” she said.
It was heard that after they finished raping her, one of the boys suggested killing her for fear of being identified but others refused, stating that since they had raped her they should let her go.
As the boys were arguing on what to do with her, she escaped and went home.
The following morning she reported the matter to police and was sent to the hospital for medical checkup.
She said she identified the boys because they were her neighbours and the time they were dragging her from the bar there was light.
Magistrate Banda adjourned the matter to January 20 for continued trial.
