DEMOCRATIC Party leader Harry Kalaba says Easter is a period that signifies hope and restoration in people’s lives.
In his Easter message, Kalaba adds that in the midst of hardships the country is facing people should still draw strength from the Word of God.
“The profoundness of Easter to a Christian is that it signifies hope and restoration, more so at a time such as this when people are embattled with the hardships of life and wondering if they will make it through the day,” he said. “We want to draw strength and comfort on the scripture in Isaiah 41:10 that encourages us that; ‘Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand’.”
He reminds that the hope of the nation lies in people’s collective trust in God.
“We should therefore take time to celebrate Easter knowing fully well that Christ is risen and because He lives, we will face tomorrow with a collective resolve to raise the nation of Zambia from its current state of deprivation to being the beacon of hope for the people of Zambia and the continent of Africa as a whole,” said Kalaba. “This Easter, I call upon all Zambians to put their trust in the Lord and believe that indeed the hope of this nation lies within our collective resolve to trust in Him for leadership and direction. This Easter season, join me and the entire DP family as we make a resolve to ‘Believe Again’ in a transformed Zambia that stands in the fear of the Lord and is yielded to Him and Him alone. Happy Easter and God bless our nation Zambia.”
