THE Electoral Commission of Zambia has implored poll staff to be deployed in Kapiri Mposhi district to be non-partisan in their conduct of electoral duties.
Kapiri Mposhi electoral officer Isaac Zimba warned that the Electoral Commission of Zambia would not hesitate to terminate the services of poll staff found abrogating the Commission’s principles of non-partisanship, objectivity and transparency.
Officially opening the training for 1,007 ECZ poll staff ahead of the August 12 general elections, Zimba said over 4,000 people applied to be engaged to help the Commission conduct the elections.
“This is a huge responsibility that you will be undertaking on behalf of the ECZ. I, therefore, expect you to be impartial and non-partisan so as to enable registered voters from the various polling stations where you will be deployed to cast their votes,” said Zimba.
Kapiri Mposhi Constituency has 110 polling stations and 89,852 registered voters.
